Are Alashan Cashmere sweaters durable?
Yes, Alashan’s high-quality cashmere sweaters are known for their durability and long-lasting softness. Each sweater is crafted from premium cashmere fibres that are selected for their strength, resilience and luxurious feel. This careful sourcing and construction help the garments resist the common issues of inferior cashmere, such as rapid thinning, stretching, or excessive pilling.
To get the best performance out of your sweater, Alashan recommends following their detailed care instructions:
- Hand-wash or dry-clean the garment using lukewarm water and a mild soap or shampoo.
- Gently squeeze out excess water or roll the sweater in a clean towel to remove moisture; then dry flat in its natural shape before storing.
- Fold and store the sweater on a shelf or in a drawer (rather than hanging) and always store clean, since natural-fiber garments attract moths when soiled.
- If slight pilling occurs over time (a normal result of natural fibres and friction) it can be addressed gently with a sweater stone or sweater comb in one direction to lift the pills.
