            At Alashan Cashmere, we empower women to express their unique beauty through a vibrant collection of luxurious fabrics. Our commitment to superior quality and an extensive color palette has earned us the affection of our customers, who say we "own the rainbow." We craft exquisite products for women, men, and the home, all made from the world’s most luxurious natural fibers.

Where It All Started

For over 20 years here at Alashan Cashmere Company, I have had the pleasure of delivering the beauty and timeless elegance of cashmere to the elevated specialty store and boutique trade.  My journey into the cashmere industry started in 1993.  I began by working for a third-generation fiber processing merchant from Woonsocket, RI.  I immediately fell in love with the romance, mystery and exotic nature of this noblest of natural fibers.  Its origins and unique characteristics evoke emotion and excitement in those who process it, sell it and wear it.  As an early “cashmere apprentice” I immersed myself in every aspect of the business—from procuring and processing raw cashmere, working directly with herdsmen and fiber traders.  I learned about fiber dying characteristics and how to achieve the best color vibrancy.  I toured the mills of our spinning and weaving customers in the USA, Europe, Japan and Korea.  I spent countless hours in the newly growing and prospering cashmere knitting industry in Inner Mongolia.  In 2004, when my employer decided to retire and close his doors, I knew it was time for an apprentice to take the big step forward and Alashan Cashmere Company was born.  Our original brands were named after my three children: Claudia Nichole, Caroline Grace, and Douglas Anthony.  Each brand reflects a unique style and deep personal connection.

In Fall 2021, we unified these beloved lines under the Alashan brand, combining tradition with innovation. Our commitment to quality and an extensive color palette in pure cashmere and other luxurious natural blends has earned us the affection of our customers, who often say we "own the rainbow." Today, we continue to craft exquisite products that celebrate the beauty and elegance of cashmere.
